Itās come to my attention lately that there are a variety of platforms and layouts for Reddit - even an Old Reddit and a new (rip). The sub rules are sometimes hard to find, and, even when you can, sometimes they arenāt clear enough.
Iām going to show you how to draft quality personal ads that will attract the attention of the people youāre hoping to connect with, keep you from annoying the others, avoid bad karma and downvotes, and keep your personal from being removed and your account placed on a posting ban. Isnāt that amazing? A WIN/WIN/WIN for posters, readers, AND the moderators!
Everyone say āYAY!ā
That was thunderous! Youāre all a great group of people! And so kinky too!!!
Okay, letās get down to it! A post has two main components: the Title (in this case, āA GUIDE to Making High Quality Personalsā) and the body (what youāre currently reading). The body is completely optional; you can use it to add detail or color, but nothing is required to be in it.
The Title, however, is what a readers look at while they scan down the long list of posts submitted since their last viewing. It is critical in giving the viewer information of whether they are of interest to the poster, and whether the poster is of interest to them. Therefore, itās the critical part of a posting. Itās where we require certain information to be.
That information can be summarized as WHO, WHERE, and WHAT. Iāll tackle these one at a time.

WHO This identifies who is posting. Examples are sissy, CD, trans, MtF, sub, Dom, switch, Daddy, Top, Trainer, Hypnotist. The more descriptive the term you use, the more your ad will attract the type of person youāre hoping to find. One frequent poster often describes themselves as something like āworthless sissy faggotā. That communicates to a reader that the person will accept (and probably desire) a considerable amount of humiliation and degradation. Some people put just age, like ā26 TX for trainingā. Age is probably helpful, but it isnāt who you are; you could be a 26 sissy or a 26 Daddy. Are you seeking training or offering it? That obscurity will degrade your results. Some think that who they are is self explanatory. If Iām looking for a sissy, that means Iām a Dom, right? Wrong! Sissies seek other sissies all the time! Hereās another example of what I see all time - ā35mā - translating to 35 year old male. Unfortunately, males are about 95% of the subscribers, leaving me to try to deduce the WHO from the rest of the title. Avoid the obscurity; spell it out!

WHERE Where you are ⦠or where you are looking (for example, taking a trip to Vegas and looking to have a meetup there) is as important to the reader as who you are. When deciding what to put for a location, keep in mind that many readers use the search filter to find people near them. So choosing āBeantownā will keep you from being viewed by a person who filtered on āBostonā. Iām in MD near DC and Northern VA is in my back yard, too. I can put NoVa as my location, or DMV is used often as an acronym for DC/Maryland/Virginia, but if I want to show up in the most searches, Iād put DC/MD/VA down, to catch the attention of anyone filtering on any of those three locations. Too wide an area (US is one I see often and weāre going to stop accepting) isnāt really helpful to someone trying to evaluate how easy having meetups would be. Large geographic areas like US, Canada, Europe, EU, donāt accomplish that and donāt meet the needs of defining your location. And, some of you are looking for an online thing. No problem; for you, your geographic location isnāt even pertinent - just insert āOnlineā to your title.

WHAT A personal ad means someone is looking for something or someone. If that isnāt the case, youāre posting in the wrong sub. Saying ālookingā or āseekingā without the WHAT isnāt enough. If youāre posting, we know youāre looking or seeking ⦠seeking WHAT, exactly? Until I know that, I donāt know if I qualify or can help. āLooking for funā is about as bad as ālookingā; how will the reader know what YOU find to be fun? Itās up to you how wide or narrow a ānetā you want to cast, but keep in mind thatās what youāre doing when writing your WHAT. Besides, without a clear what, expect your personal to be flagged and/or removed.
Hope this is useful in making full use of the sub
