Becuse scooters are something the youths and poors use, massive SUVs are a upper middle class thing, obviously.

Haven’t read the articule, but SUV’s pay tax, sales/fuel etc so do nothing they are generating revenue. e-scooters/micro mobility? scum of the earth, it can’t be free to move around?! insanity!

Can’t wait to get an e-scoot myself.

even the taxes paid by SUV’s, the damage they do to the road structure is 100 times worth more since they are heavier vehicles. plus the amount of diesel they consume. No tax could ever cover these costs

Because the huge SUVs that you have in the US are already banned in the EU.

Because, as I walk through the city, it is 10x more common to find an e-scooter blocking the sidewalk than an SUV?

Or, maybe, because SUVs do not go at 25kph in walking areas?

I can absolutely agree with this…

to be clear about what’s a real problem, and what’s not. (…) Pick up trucks and monster SUVs are -the- a problem and we need a public debate about those 3-4% biggest cars, the space they claim and the danger they pose.

EDIT: My city has specific, identified and plenty spaces for e-scooters. Either the rental e-scooters break down (too) frequently, or (some of!) the users of those are assholes that abandon them at random.

      Totally disagree.

It’s the SUVs. Imagine how much space for e-scooters there would be if all the SUVs would be gone.

Maybe lets make more parking spaces for e scooters and not suvs.

Also one is a much bigger polluter than the other.
