The Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelenskiy, fears that if Donald Trump returns to the White House next year he could make unilateral concessions to Russia that override Ukraine’s interests and branded the former US president’s claims he could stop the war in 24 hours as “very dangerous”.

In an interview with the UK’s Channel 4 News, Zelenskiy said he was “stressed” that the former president “is going to make decisions on his own, without … I’m not even talking about Russia, but without both sides, without us.”

“If he says this publicly, that’s a little scary. I’ve seen a lot, a lot of victims, but that’s really making me a bit stressed,” he said.

“Even if his idea [for ending the war] – that no one has heard yet – doesn’t work for us, for our people, he will do anything to implement his idea anyway. And this worries me a little,” he added.

Trump doesn’t even do what’s right for the American people. Why would he do what’s right for the people of Ukraine?

This is the best summary I could come up with:

The Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelenskiy, fears that if Donald Trump returns to the White House next year he could make unilateral concessions to Russia that override Ukraine’s interests and branded the former US president’s claims he could stop the war in 24 hours as “very dangerous”.

In an interview with the UK’s Channel 4 News, Zelenskiy said he was “stressed” that the former president “is going to make decisions on his own, without … I’m not even talking about Russia, but without both sides, without us.”

Zelenskiy said he’d invite Trump to Ukraine – an offer he has previously declined to extend – but only if the former president comes through on his promise to stop the war.

In September, Trump said that if re-elected president, he would resolve the war within 24 hours but declined to outline his peace plan.

Zelenskiy’s comments come as the Biden administration has signaled it is prepared to make concessions around security at the US-Mexico border to obtain a multibillion-dollar military arms package to Ukraine currently held up by Republicans in Congress.

Separately, the head of the UN atomic watchdog warned that Russian mines had been re-planted in the buffer zone around the Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant after they were removed in November.

Very dangerous for the Ruzzian fascists and very good for democracy if they keep winning with our support.

Remember folks, we’re not allowed to even question all the money being sent to Ukraine, you know, one of the most CORRUPT countries in the world…

Almost all countries are corrupt, the US included. Can you add something of substance to your post instead of what you actually wrote?

So, that’s your reply? Since all countries are corrupt, even the US, we should NOT limit, or even QUESTION where the money is going? Spoken like a true Democrat.

          I am not American.

Where did I say we shouldn’t question things?

My point is that you are arguing against something which wasn’t brought up in the first place, like shouting at a cloud.

To address what you did say: who is stopping you from questioning anything? You’re doing it here. You have freedom of speech.

By what metric are you measuring that Ukraine is one of the most corrupt countries, and how does that mean they are deserving of being bombed/invaded?

The US is one of the most corrupt countries in the world, so what is the relevance of your comment? I could bring up corruption such as Saudi Arabia giving Jared Kushner $2bn; I wonder what favours were given from the previous government to secure that. Does that mean we can now bomb the US?

I could understand this post if it wasn’t very glaringly obviously where the money was going.

Which is the war happening in front of all our eyes. And probably the most well documented war in human history.
