  • This is the kind of thing I mean when I say, we won’t be able to fix the damage being done in our lifetime.

The fundamental mistrust of our country and government being created right now, in mere weeks, will not go away, even if we manage to weather four years of this. Trump is only doing one thing effectively, and that is destroy America’s standing both inside and outside of the country, but the damage is so much deeper than we can process.

And Russia is the only country in the world benefiting from that right now. So I also am going to make a prediction. Once America is fully gutted, potentially in civil war, and a nightmarish dystopia, Putin will reveal he was manipulating Trump all along, probably by allowing a leak of some of the secret communications Trump has had with Putin, with Trump inevitably making outright treasonous statements. We’ll all already know it was happening, but Putin will then gain one last trophy from Trump: confirming to the world he was able to manipulate and destroy the most powerful nation.

It’s why Putin uses trademark assassination methods, like polonium tea. He wants everyone to know he did it, and he got away with it. It’s why Trump is dropping the facade of democracy now that he has power, because he’s mimicking Putin.

  • It really sometimes depresses me to think how far along those utopian futures we could be if we as a species didn’t have to spend so much of our lives and potential counteracting bad faith sociopathic saboteurs to progress.

Maybe history is just 75% of the people mostly at a stalemate with 25% whose empathy-deficient mental illnesses give them an edge in obtaining power and resources.

  • This is a good list, and to add:

    • Consumer sentiment in general is terrible. A large part of the population are stressed and exhausted, and that’s not a “let’s go see something fun” mindset for many, it’s “let’s get through the day and watch comfort content.”

    • This is a time of the year in general where studios bury releases they don’t have confidence in.

    • Because of that, while many have reasonable Rotten Tomatoes scores, when you do that year after year, audiences start to stop paying attention around this time.

  • You see, it hit Trump like a bolt of lightning - fentanyl is a problem, but what people never had realized, is that fentanyl has to be moved between different physical locations.

From there, after only two weeks of additional thought, Trump had his trademark genius insight: don’t stop the fentanyl, stop the people moving the fentanyl.

It was an idea so brilliant, not even the smartest minds had thought of it. But how? How do you stop people moving fentanyl? How can you? Is it even possible?

Ah, it was a tough one, even for Trump. He labored for another month, but then - genius! We could… No… But could we …make the cars so expensive, these criminals would not even be able to move the fentanyl.

It was a perfect plan with no flaws. The only question was, could he explain his incredible but hopelessly intricate insights to the mere mortals in the media? As anyone who knows Trump could predict, he felt the need for the public to understand, a compulsion, such is he cursed with care for their feelings, and would first gouge his eyes out rather than have them experience a moment’s confusion or worry.

Well, leave that to his capable staff. If the people love him even a fraction as much as he loves them, they will understand. It is an emergency. It must be done. For America.
