You’re good. I wasn’t meaning to put you on blast. To be honest, it’s still surprising to me how much activity on Lemmy isn’t bot accounts, but people just trying to share content they found and enjoyed or at least thought was relevant. I became jaded from Reddit where there seemed to be automated posting that just blanketed 15-20 subreddits based on tags or some classification.

My guess is that’s the name of the clip, and sharing it either auto generated the title, or op copy and pastes the title.

Deserved as in your deservedly feel hurt or angry about the things in the past. As in, shitty things happened to you, so you (rightfully) feel the way you do. You deserve to feel that way in the sense you rightfully feel that way. It doesn’t mean you deserved to have those things happen to you. Different usages of the word.

I saw another instance where they listed the server cost requirements per month, and it’d be nice to see current and expected costs considering the user jump. I’d like to donate, but I don’t want it to be trying to piss out a fire. If the costs are 200$ a month, I’d want to donate appropriately compared to costs of $5000 a month. An income/expense statement would be nice. I know there are a lot of fires, but I feel like many of the people leaving Reddit left because of greed and (lack of) transparency. Having a transparent list of (projected) costs will garner trust, and help secure this server as more “legitimate”.

There is a way for it to be successfully moderated, but it will require a dedicated/knowledgeable mod (team) to keep it in check. It can very quickly become a way for bad actors to find a home.

Consensual non-consent. It’s basically the “rape fantasy” played out by consenting adults. If done correctly, it follows guidelines, limits, and safewords. I’m not into it myself, but I’m assuming one of the biggest issues is determining true CNC from non-consent (actual rape) content.

I’m using Connect, and under your user setting, there is a NSFW content viewing setting. I’m also new, so I don’t know how that works with your user profile settings when you made your account, but there was a checkbox under the account creation that asks about allowing NSFW content. You may need to log into the account on browser or desktop to change it, or make another account. There might be an option, but I’ve only been using this for about 2 hours.
