Funny you mention that. I just got an email last week that my youtube music price was going up to $16.99/month. I’ve used it since the days of google play, before it joined with youtube and it was like $9.99 (mostly out of a dislike for spotify). But it isn’t the best service tbh, what with low-quality audio and a buggy app interface. So I was finally motivated to make the switch to Tidal this week. Loving it so far… hope they don’t follow suit and up their sub price like the others (knock on wood).
FWIW, the email I got from youtube said something about being able to sign up for a cheaper rate if I nuked my account and made a new one on youtube through a web browser. Not sure why that would make a difference, but I was too over it to even bother.
I was addicted to lemmings as a kid! I recently just saw a video for a new game called “Humanity” which looks like a modernized play on the same idea, with crowds of people instead of lemmings.
Yeah, their response seems to basically boil down to ‘It’s doing great if you consider it’s ps5 exclusive’, which kinda misses the point. It’d probably have sold even better than 15 if it wasn’t. It’s just strange that they’d neuter their own potential for sales. I’d have bought it too, but I’m already losing interest, and there’s no sign of it coming to other platforms anytime soon.
It’s worth mentioning, while there are a lot of parallels to GTA, there are some important differences you should expect. For instance, there’s no ability to steal cars from others in this game. Rather you buy your own vehicles and drive those only. The game is more focused on the story and missions than the vehicle aspect.
Yeah that makes sense, she could totally be messing with him… which I guess would mean the timelines diverged and somewhere in the multiverse there’s a Janeway that actually does remember everything! That helps my head-canon at least, thanks.
I can’t help but read your posts in Janeway’s voice. And now I’m imagining her with a wife.
Have you watched Mr. Robot? That’s my favorite show and in the same vein of mind-bendy, twists & turns & cliffhangers. It can be a slow start since it takes almost the whole first season to reveal what kind of show it is, but well worth it.
ahhh that took me a minute, nice catch
Ok… but what about half life 3?
Still up for me also
He’s also the writer & director of Mr. Robot, one of the greatest shows ever (if anyone here hasn’t given it a chance please do, there’s nothing else like it). What a bummer, I’d read that he had been looking forward to remaking that particular film for many years. He must have had some interesting ideas, I’d have loved to see what he did with it.
I’m working through Star Trek, watched TNG and DS9 and on Voyager now. I’ve always been aware of it but somehow never realized how good it is! Which is nice because now I feel like I discovered a treasure trove, there are so many shows and movies.
This looks like the game I wanted Stellaris to be. Really psyched! Also it’s pretty cool you can play as the Cardassians.
My dream Star Trek game is basically this as an overworld game plus away missions with XCOM style combat…
They’re both piracy communities on separate lemmy instances. One is on lemmy.dbzer0.com, one is on lemmy.ml. As both those instances are linked, the communities can interact with each other freely. Hope that helps.
The Visitor is probably my favorite, and in the running for my favorite episode. I remember when I put that episode on, innocently all ready to enjoy another episode of DS9… 45 minutes later I’m basically sobbing in front of my tv lol. The beautiful thing is it probably wouldn’t have hit as hard if they didn’t do such a great job of setting up Jake and Sisko’s relationship leading up to it. Not to mention the performance from all three actors. Watching their faces as they interact with one another is incredibly convincing and just pulls you fully into the scenes emotionally.
I’m enjoying it for the most part. One recent choice forced a A or B choice where I really thought some compromise or alternative should’ve been an option, and kinda dulled my enthusiasm a bit. But I do find the settings and immersiveness engaging, and there’s a definite Trek feel to many of the plot points and concepts. I’m really looking forward to the new strategy game btw!
I’m having an issue and wondering if it’s something with the way the site works, or just me.
When I access a community that isn’t on my instance through my instance (for example, I am accessing this one although my home instance is lemmy.world, so the URL is https://lemmy.world/c/[email protected]), I don’t see all the posts or comments on that community, only certain ones. I know this because when I then access the same community through it’s instance (so for example, if I go to the URL https://lemm.ee/c/support and view it, not logged in) I see posts and comments that I can’t through my instance. An example is the recent post here “How Come I don’t see most comments?” - when viewing it without logging in, I see the comments on that post, but when viewing it through my instance while logged in it appears there are no comments on it and it even says zero comments. Sometimes whole posts are missing. Is it supposed to be this way?
I checked the language settings and have both Undetermined and English highlighted.
Thanks for any help
I’m watching through it now for the first time (I already worked through TNG and DS9). I’m liking it a lot more than I expected, given what I’d heard about it. I really like the premise, and Janeway is a badass. Plus even the characters that others don’t seem to like as much, I enjoy. I’m about halfway through season 4 and I have noticed a drastic increase in quality of the episodes too, lots of cool stuff going on, and Seven is awesome. I started calling Janeway Insaneway in my head after a couple of stunts she’s done.
Yeah this is how I feel. If you go in without expectations it’s pretty enjoyable, I liked it for what it was.
You’ll never believe how far this mother/daughter quarrel over a bagel goes!
