  • The setting I am suggesting gets disabled keeps the card powered during sleep so Wake on LAN can work on a hardware level.

The OS isn’t checking the packets. The NIC gets a packet and wakes up the OS.

I am not defending it, just explaining how to stop it from happening. A lot of people who know what Wake On LAN is don’t know about Wake On Magic Packet

  • That’s kind of a childless thing to say lol

I also don’t have any either but I have enough friends and family with young kids to know that it’s unrealistic to do everything well so you have to pick and choose which parts of your kids’ lives are worth the extra effort.

Every parent I know would jump at the opportunity to outsource the tedious crap. Some people love party planning but for most, there is little enjoyment to be found researching and booking a birthday party for a child.

  • The other day I had a weird experience with pores and sweating.

I was given a family-sized bag of chips that were “too spicy” for my parents. They were spicy, sure, but not painfully spicy.

However, my body’s reaction was not the usual sweating… It was to excessively sweat from a square inch spot just above my temple.

I could literally FEEL the sweat coming out of the pores. I went to the mirror and watched it pour out like a damn faucet. It was fascinating but very uncomfortable, both physically and psychologically

    Super weird.

And yet there’s people whose autism is severely debilitating…

I’m certainly not saying autism makes you stupid but people diagnosed with it have a huge range of intelligence so it’s unfair to say it “makes you smarter” IMO. There’s no proof of causation even if it often does correlate
