When I saw they were here, I knew I was staying.
I agree with this. I’ve been using Jerboa when needed (personally prefer it to the mobile browser), but if I have the option I’m just browsing using my laptop. I’m sure that there is going to be a point where mobile apps like Jerboa are more streamlined, which I look forward to. I’ve always been a mobile user first and foremost.
Man I have been waiting on this game for years at this point. Can’t believe I’ll get to play the full thing soon!
A lot of subreddits that have been said I’ll also miss, but for me personally I’ll miss the Math based subreddits I used to follow the most. r/badmath was a particular fav. I don’t have many “math people” in my friend group so it was nice to have a place to chat about differnet math topics and learn. But hey, I’m sure with time we can expect a lot of those subreddits to find a home elsewhere. Hopefully here. I like it a lot so far!
Not sure if you typically browse on mobile and have an Android, by I’m using an app called Jerboa that has a very similar feel to some of the 3rd party Reddit apps. So far, so good 👍
Goes without saying the CEO really fucked this whole situation. I never would have sought out an alternative to Reddit if he hadn’t decided to start all this API nonsense. But hey, in a way I’m glad he did. I never would have found lemmy otherwise. As a fan of open source material myself, I’d rather be here anyway.
Never commented much on Reddit, but I plan to be active here as much as possible. I want to see this community grow!
Grease mephitis in the sewers. This exchange pops in to my head at least once a day for some reason:
“What did the wizard say this river was called again?”
“I believe he called it ‘the SYOO-ER’”
“Well what ever it is, it’s impressive, and it tastes great”
Something about the cadence and delivery from the voice actors just make me laugh every time. Honestly, even for the most random of characters, all the voice actors absolutely killed it in this game.
