My regional rail line is getting shut down. This is going to make traffic significantly worse on at least 3 major roads.
Well I suppose the British pronunciation would be Eee-oar as well, but the ‘oar’ would probably sound more like ‘aww’ instead of the American R at the end. So Eee-aww sounds sort of like the ‘hee-haw’ sound a donkey might make.

The biggest problem is that kids are reciting it without understanding the words they’re saying or the concepts they convey. When I was a little kid I was just repeating the syllables I was given, with no real idea about what it all meant*. Nobody should take any pledge until they can clearly explain what it means and what it means to them. And obviously a pledge should always be voluntary.
*Same as forcing a kid to go through the sacraments but I digress.

Interesting! I think central, north, and south Jersey all have some distinctions in accent. Plus I think a lot of people have a pretty stereotyped idea of what New Jerseyans are “supposed” to sound like haha
Aww, give him a scritch for me 🤍

Ringtone? My dude, the only people I know who have their ringer volume on are all in their seventies.

No thank you! That one really bothers me for some reason.
Same as “eltse” for else, “foe-ward” for forward, “warsh” for wash, and “ayggs” for eggs.
And some people say “heighth” for height and I swear it’s just to fuck with me.
Aw those eyes 🧡
