They probably had no intentions of releasing pride merch this year and slammed through a rush job after the protests hurt the bottom line.

Top of most clouds is the tropopause and that only 11 miles up at the equator (and gets lower towards the poles)
You’re confusing iOS, where you are in a walled garden, with macOS, where you can just do whatever the hell you want (There’s a recovery partition you can boot to where you can disable just about every bit of security that’s not hardware much like booting to grub in Linux)

There’s always DNS over HTTPS. It’s really hard to nab that shit out if it’s going upstream to the same server that’s hosting the content.

The government has literally prevented cars that prevent you from blinding another car on the road from coming to the US market. Cars come in with active LED arrays and they have to be disabled to sell in the US.

From my understanding, the lead content is on the inside of the vacuum flask. Which is why it passed testing several times before someone cut it open and actually tested the inner material.

Wait. Really? Still? What backwards planet are we still living that one of the largest states has deemed that men can’t be raped by women?

I’m a fairly happy employee and I want to unionize.
I remember working through the Great Recession and I never want to take a 7 year pay cut again.

You just plug it in and force the machine to compile for hours?
China has been engaged in hostilities with India trying to expand their border in the last year, so the “You silly westerners don’t understand China doesn’t do war anymore” is exactly the kind of bullshit nonsense that people are being critical of pro-China users. Arunachal Pradesh does not belong to China.

AI drive a compact SUV (a glorified hatchback with a raised wheelbase), and took a trailer to cover the western US for my vacation this year, but looking at the vehicle in the post: The only way that works because the car drives at sea level with no grade. I had a trailer, with brakes, ~150 lbs below of my car’s recommended towing capacity, and coming over some passes sounded like I was taking thousands of miles off my car’s transmission.
Had Japan not surrendered, we had another nuke en route (The demon core was around already, we just had to slap it into the mechanism), and could have had a fourth reasonably quickly. (We had processed a huge chunk of the fuel for the fourth pit before we dropped our first bomb) It was just after that where the US couldn’t just keep setting them off because the timescales to generate the plutonium was measured in several weeks.
Last Podcast on the Left did a decent, though immensely gory, series on the Manhattan Project recently.
I’m pretty sure it’s the first flash advertising campaign I’ve seen on Lemmy. Baked beans are a traditional Fourth of July food, so it’s a nice reminder for a million people to bring some beans to their cookout tomorrow.
I’m expecting that JSON parsing is a huge overhead with the fediverse. I work on a SAAS that needs to do all its internal processing in under 10 ms, and serializing/deserializing ends up being a sizable chunk of server time. I saw a 40% reduction in runtime using simdjson for deserializing, and there exists a rust crate for it, but I haven’t had time to look the Lemmy code over.
Can anyone with an overloaded instance get on their command line and gather a decent flamegraph so the performance folks can aim optimizations in the right direction?

At least you have the self awareness that you are a selfish asshole, so that’s something I guess?
We still have them all, we just prioritize moving cargo on them.
