That’s why it blows my mind how so many republicans are helping him, regular people and politicians alike. Like, y’all know you’re not getting a slice of the pie right? In the end he’ll only want the ones that are useful, not the ones that are loyal. Loyalty only goes so far when you aren’t useful anymore.
By the time the average schmoe makes it Congress they’ve been a big shot for years. They were a star in high school, important at college, had their pick of jobs after graduating, and were hand picked by The Establishment to run for office. They can’t comprehend that Trump doesn’t care about any of that.
I’m surprised he pardoned the Jan 6 people. I thought he would let them hang because their usefulness was done. The fact that he didn’t suggests he wants something more from them.
It tells all the militias and proud boys and what not that they can do anything, even illegal stuff, and Trump will have their back. He’s essentially put out a hit on every member of Congress that would think about crossing him.
It’s early stage and anyone that follows his orders are either fascist too or idiots. Fast-forward 10 years, if the GOP still haven’t been edged out it will be an automatic felony and mandatory jail time to disobey a President.
I’m saying they don’t just “follow” if ordered. Fascism comes about because people want to do it. They want to give their power and support to the leader. They implement what the direction is without being given an order.
I’ve had this exact discussion with my father. We both think it’s absurdly short sighted for the SCOTUS to give Trump immunity like they did, even if they reserve the right to define what is in bounds. The moment he has unlimited power, they’re toast.
He already does. What enforcement mechanism does the Supreme Court have? None.
If Trump decides he wants to start ignoring the Supreme Court tomorrow, what the hell are they going to do about it? Especially if Congress is on his side?
Biden pretty much already went through this dance with student debt relief. Trump will throw a dozen things at the wall all at once in the hope just one thing sticks. There’s only so many judges and hours in the day, so just like with the media he’ll overwhelm the system. Until a judge rules on it, Trump and the whole of the GOP considers his every action legal.

No, a lot of them don’t because they are really fucking stupid.

It’s kinda the same thing as talking to my MAGA father. Saying “you know he doesn’t give a shit about you, right?” Always falls on deaf ears.
The latest news is that Trump fired the staff of the Kennedy Center and replaced them with Donald Trump.
I don’t know how many more straws the camel’s back will take, but I’m sure the camel is taking steroids and working out extra hard.

They’re his future
brown shirtsred hats. They’re still very useful. Gives the rest of us something to focus on while he does worse things behind the scenes.
I never understood fascism until Trump came in. It works not because he gives orders, but because others *want to give him the power.

What are they going to do? Well, I’ll tell you: John Roberts will consider withholding his vote for Trump’s 2028 campaign.
He’ll write a supporting argument stating that this does not grant precedence for future cases with other presidents.
