Tesla sales have declined globally, including a 30 per cent drop in Australia this January. Experts say it's partly due to Elon Musk's political views and high-profile actions deterring buyers.
The research tracks EV sentiments across 2,000 drivers across Australia and 34 per cent were now “less willing to buy or lease a Tesla” because of Musk’s behaviour.
But 15 per cent said their opinion of Mr Musk made them more willing.

It’s not about loving the planet. A lot bought Tesla for status. There are so many other EVs but that’s not status.
