The problem is that we are so fundamentally divided on so many issues.
The right wants the right to self defense, the left wants to lick boots, the right thinks that deporting illegal immigrants is the default, the left thinks that it’s another Holocaust, the right thinks that the government spending less money is good, the left wants the government to burn money like it’s coal.
At what point do you just say that they’re just not worthy allies?
I’d call the very premise American, because only Americans think that way. Other countries like mine have national bans in place and don’t suffer from the things the US does like indiscriminate public shootings. In fact, we hope for fewer guns out on the streets in the future because it works.
Unfortunately, the source of the guns on our streets refuses to ban them over hypothetical scenarios at their own and our own expense.
This mirrors the health insurance with privatized healthcare problem as well. It’s one of the few things the US got wrong and it brings them so much pain but they’re proud to keep doing it that way even though everyone else figured it out.
In Germany, it’s literally against the law to insult politicians. The UK is the most surveillanced country in the world(except China). Scotland still has blasphemy laws.
You’re grossly mischaracterizing… Everything. You’re lumping all those laws together in one single category and blaming a highly diverse political group for it. It’s misguided and naive. Also, that’s not what bootlicking is.

It’s not.

So yeah… The part about being lied to. Right there. It’s all right there.
There are plenty of gun owners on the left for one and the conversation is pretty much always about the excessive “weapons of war” like assault rifles. Very few people are talking about getting rid of shotguns, hunting rifles, pistols, etc… hell Kamala even said she’s a gun owner, I think she owns a Glock or something. If the part about licking boots is about resisting the military, you’re just not doing that at all no matter what small arms you have and I’m pretty sure we’re not allowed as it is to own a tank or missiles.
There is an increase of discussion of actual concentration camps because you don’t need to gas people for it to be a concentration camp. The internment camps for the Japanese in WWII were concentration camps too. The right could help fix the immigration issue if they’d focus on a plan to legally process the people faster that want to move here so there isn’t a 10 year waiting period that makes people feel like they have to enter illegally, but they’re against that.
The last is just straight up nonsense. No one wants to just burn money. We already pay taxes, we want the taxes to help people, not just go to the military and corporate handouts.

I’m sorry? Come again? 😂
What else do you call someone who wants the government to have all the guns?

Technically the left does want “the government to burn money like it’s coal” - we don’t want either to be burned :p
Good point lol
Yeah, no nuances here.
The division is by design of the people in power. Weve got more in common than you think
