Kawasaki introduced its Ninja e-1 and Z e-1 concepts at EICMA 2022, and has been making steady progress since. Sales are now open in the US in 2023 for both.
First electric motorcycle that really interests me. Reasonable price for a commuter, reasonable specs for my kind of commuting, though I’d like a top speed of 70 (my national speed limit, in practice it gives me 10mph of head room on 60 roads. Full motorcyle ergonomics. Lots to like here.
I’m currently keeping a 390 duke as a one bike garage, good compromise between ergo, price, running costs, specs and storage. I don’t think any e-motorcyle is suitable as a “one bike”, which is why I haven’t jumped. But, it is interesting as n+1 option: have the e-commuter and a more specialised toy bike for the weekends.
