    I honestly can’t imagine why anyone on either side would want to prevent Texas from seceding tbh

      • because it would involve length court battles sucking resources for generations
      • It would be allowing some local government assholes a lot of power
      • It would put a shitton of oil beyond the US borders
      • There is zero way it would be done by a direct vote of the population including teenagers
      • It would leave everyone a lot poorer.
      • And it wouldn’t even achieve the goals everyone claims they want

      Regardless of any other reasons, there’s no way in hell the US government would give up one of the biggest domestic sources of oil.
