Please try to be as active as you can. Don’t just come here, fap and then leave. Try to contribute and interact with the communities here. We need to work together to ensure the best success we possibly can for Lemmy and the wider Fediverse.
Fuck Reddit, let’s all try to move away from that absolute shitshow.
On another note: If you can’t view the Lemmy NSFW communities, check out the other locally pinned post for some potential communities you could join.
Spread the Word about Lemmy NSFW if you can, as many instances don’t like hosting NSFW content.
Build your own Community. No fetish is too niche, try creating your own communities to help grow Lemmy NSFW further! (Make sure your community follows all instance-wide rules, though!).
I get that, and in that way it’s almost a bit like a self-fulfilling prophecy. But I think it’s also just kinda the natural progression of communities like that.
Right now it’s still fairly accepting, probably because of a lack of alternatives catering to more specific audiences. But you can already see the trend in the individual upvote/downvote ratio, and I’m pretty sure I already know which direction that trend will be heading in. And once you get to the point where 90% of people visiting those communities are looking for pretty much the exact opposite of what you’re offering, posting your shit there is just not fun anymore.
I noticed that and I think that’s a totally valid point. The downvotes that are given just bc it’s male content would definitely make me feel like my content was unwanted. It’s just annoying bc why click on it if you don’t like that tag? Bc all of the posts are blurred by default, they had to literally click on it themselves in order for it to be a bother. I saw the same thing for the CD and trans posts as well. Hopefully you didn’t perceive me as pushy, just wanted to give some of the encouragement that many guys don’t receive in NSFW spaces. People should be comfortable where they post 😁, especially in NSFW communities. Cheers!
Nah, no worries! You’ve not been pushy at all. In fact, your efforts are greatly appreciated! And I don’t even mind the downvotes tbh, I’ve been doing this long enough to know what to expect.
I’m really just arguing in favour of more specific communities in order to maybe encourage people to create them, while simultaneously being much too lazy to create them myself. That’s all. 😄
