A new Florida law banning gender-affirming care for minors is getting a lot of attention nationally as Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis runs for president, but it's also impacting transgender adults.

The new law that bans gender-affirming care for minors also mandates that adult patients seeking trans health care sign an informed consent form. It also requires a physician to oversee any health care related to transitioning, and for people to see that doctor in person. Those rules have proven particularly onerous because many people received care from nurse practitioners and used telehealth. The law also made it a crime to violate the new requirements.

Another new law that allows doctors and pharmacists to refuse to treat transgender people further limits their options.

                    Do you believe churches should be banned until every pastor and every priest can be investigated and conclusively shown to be safe for children to be around? Or are you a groomer defending a practice that is rife with pedophiles?

                    Come to think of it, why are you focusing on this? Churches have had far more sexual abuse cases. I haven’t even heard of a single one involving drag shows. I can’t think of any sane reason for a person worried about child abuse to hyperfocus on an area that might not even have any ignoring the largest offenders. Unless… Are you just trying to run cover for churches by baselessly accusing drag queens?

                    If your response doesn’t agree with the complete and total closure of all churches and in depth investigation of all religious clergy, you’re a groomer.

                    And if you find my comment ridiculous, and don’t realize that I’m purposely using your thought process here to ridicule it, you should consider getting a GED and letting the sane adults handle things.
