minus-square@[email protected]linkfedilink5•2 months agoDuring the 50s, getting divorced was frowned upon. And I was reading about how housewife’s frequently were either drugged/intoxicated to deal with their abusive husbands, or plotting to kill them.
The drugs and child abuse ones are still accurate.
And modern Americans are doing their damnedest to make the polio one true again as well.
A solid 30% of Americans are trying their best to bring all of that image back.
