It’s always a relief when someone asks to schedule something a month in advance, because that means I won’t have to do it. There’s no way I’m remembering our engagement a MONTH FROM NOW!? That’s like five years away.

Today is that magical day where “appointment” day and today line up! Unfortunately it is time gated to this evening. Hopefully I remember to make my call tonight. Wish me luck!

The day after tomorrow is appointment day for me. All four ADHD days have aligned in sequence, as it was written. I forget where.

you know, that was a really relaxing time. why do i need to give you numbers about a project six months into the future that won’t hold up the second we finish? it’ll be six, maybe five, possibly seven months. that should be enough, right?

I don’t think I’ve ever been part of a project that accurately estimated how long it would take.

My employer has gone hard into agile, and not just for the software people.

Having my priorities for the next two weeks rather than guesstimating the next 18 months is so nice.

Everyone knows you have a hard deadline and work backwards to today. It is immaterial whether that is enough time for the work or to line up appropriate resources. Duh.

Guys, my appointment day is coming. Once again I thought that this time would be different and I’d be ready…

Mine too. I said I would go to the movies tonight, rolling the die that I’d feel up to it, but so far that’s not panning out 😔

Yeah I managed to rally and actually ended up really enjoying myself. It was for a screening of Dawn of the Dead ('78). I’d never seen it before.

          When’s your appointment day?

Nice! That’s usually how it ends up for me too. Enjoyable, but the activation energy is insane.

Unfortunately this time, the appointment isn’t a fun one, but it’s a work thing. I need to present something and I had a couple months to prepare but I did jack. And now it’s in a week

Activation energy is a great way to put it.

RE your work presentation, I think I know that pain. I’ve been misestimating this project I’m on over and over, and I just can’t seem to muster. Even throwing overtime at it (the last resort) and all I’ve done is burn myself out and make my body hurt all over lol.

What’s your work presentation about? Can you possible get an extension?

I don’t think I can get an extension. And to be honest, a part of me know that I probably can crunch/grind and finish it in time. I just hate myself for half assing and doing the bare minimum again instead of actually doing it properly

Oof, this. And I have a lot of appointments cause of my stupid body forgetting how to work correctly.

Reading this while waiting on a tooth pull from an oral surgeon feels a little too real.
