I hate how the label “undocumented migrants” is slapped onto people who have lived there for longer than the concept of a nation state existed.
The country is basically that. Google ‘orang asli’ (original people in the native language) and the use of the word ‘pendatang’ (translation: immigrant) as it refers to the native non-malay population in racial politics.

These people have lived all their lives on the seas for thousands of years roaming the seas in Southeast Asia hopping from island to island. Nobody’s restricted their movements till now.
