Trump acts like the Mob. You do this one thing for me and you’ll benifit in my organization and owe me, you know quid pro quo. Only the people who think they’re benifiting will follow him, even though they’re getting screwed. At least the Mob has its rules.

Yeah, except I think the mob is/was more trustworthy, better organized, and more qualified for their jobs…probably better food too. Then again, I’m basing pretty much all my knowledge on The Sopranos.

The civil suit, which names Mr. Musk and America PAC as defendants, requests that a state court halt further operation of the sweepstakes in Pennsylvania.

The suit also accuses Mr. Musk and America PAC of violating state consumer protection laws by deploying deceptive or misleading statements. As one example, Mr. Krasner argues that winners are not, in fact, random because “multiple winners that have been selected are individuals who have shown up at Trump rallies in Pennsylvania.”

So just to be clear, this is not criminal charges. This is a civil suit seeking an injunction, and possibly damages (the latter not clear from the article).

It makes sense, I suppose, since a criminal investigation may take more time, but disappointing nonetheless. I predict Musk will continue to do this until he’s arrested, deported or the election is over. Criminal charges may or may not follow, but probably won’t happen before the election.

Best case scenario, there is an injunction now, a civil suit that brings evidence out into the open during discovery, and criminal charges at both the state and federal level once they have an overwhelming case built up that can eviscerate any defense his army of lawyers might put forward.

I wish they could just slap cuffs on him now and toss him in jail, but unfortunately the richest man in the world is not going to be easy to prosecute.

Thank you, DA Krasner. Obviously the Fed DOJ is too concerned about being political to actually do their JOB!!
