You mean the $60k bounty? The cops will happily relinquish that $50k as promised. Keep in mind that the $40k will only be given if it leads to a conviction, though, and the bank will probably put a hold on the full $30k. But that’s OK. $20k is still a life-changing amount, even if you won’t get all of the promised $10k after taxes.

It was done on the clock. So the restaurant owner is going to claim it.

I don’t know if this is /s or not at this point.

Feature, not a bug. It would be much more expensive for them so pull something like this off if our needs were met.

The Golden Arches and their snitches deserve the single finger salute. On the other hand, what would you do if you were making minimum wage with pathetic benefits? $50k would be helpful, unless the clown buys a Dodge Charger.

I wouldn’t count on that reward money.

Insurance companies aren’t exactly famous for paying what they owe.

It’s worth noting that we don’t know exactly why they called the cops. It appears the cops didn’t know who he was until they had him pull down his mask. I’m guessing he was quite the sight after several days on the run, and probably several nights without much sleep. Some reporting also stated that they called the police on behest of an alarmed customer.

Well, you would have to quit your job and go into hiding because the whole country wants to dox you and that 50k (maximum) would only get you so far

After a quick Google search it seems that it would be taxed as income.

I’ve always wondered why they don’t just account for tax and just give them enough that after taxes is the amount stated but then ol uncle Sam can’t get his fingers wet by shoving them up your ass.

Considering how many deaths that guy was responsible for in chasing another dollar, it was essentially self-defense, not murder.
If another country was responsible for that many suffer Americans congress would have likely declared war already.

Take your fake pearl clutching to the shareholders meeting. Are you upset because Luigi didn’t do it for profit?

Eye for an eye: bad. Eye for a dollar: righteous.

When does the killing make the world not sad for you? One death is apparently upsetting. A hundred dead then? Thousands? Or is the number of lives less important than if it’s done for profit?

We see every day corporate figureheads and politicians skirting the law. If our system turns a blind eye to the rich and powerful, we can turn a blind eye as well. It’s how the mafia got away with so much crime. They took care of the neighborhoods they hid in.

He was carrying around the gun and a manifesto… he was trying to be caught. Dude probably was going out to eat every meal and getting frustrated that no one called the cops on him till today.

Like suspiciously stupid. Getting caught, even if you get your manifesto out there, doesn’t really help your cause. Disappearing; leaving a constant doubt of a professional killer hunting insurance CEOs would.

So here’s hoping Luigi plays along for a couple weeks and goes “haha suckers, here’s my alibi.”

And, from all accounts, this guy was not stupid - high school valedictorian, high honors in college, tech bro who made or acquired a ghost gun. My guess is the evidence was planted or he wanted to get caught. I mean, it was a ghost gun - he could have melted it down or broke it into pieces, etc. Why would he still have it?

Mental disease or defect? But yeah I’ve seen what folks are writing about the dude and he certainly doesn’t seem “stupid” on paper.

Seems sus. The guy didn’t look like the other photos to me and why would you keep evidence on your person like that? Why not ditch the gun and jacket? Seems like someone taking the fall so the cops and stuff look good.

You asked why as a reply to a comment that suggested he wanted to get caught. That would be the why.

Perhaps he wants to have his day in court and air out what these evil companies do.

Apparently he had some pending YouTube videos being published, but YouTube took down his account.

Also, he stated to the police that he didn’t know where the money came from, suspecting it might have been a plant.

Edit: they’re on the Altoona Iowa ones, not the PA ones like the article also mentions.

When we tried to pass single payer we came up 1 vote short, every single Republican voted no. They also voted no on protecting pre-existing conditions and expanding medicaid, which did pass.

Tbe American People saw this and came to the conclusion that they needed to elect more Republicans.

So, have we really tried? It doesn’t seem like it to me.
