    That is really hot. I usually find caning to do more welting than bruising. I usually have to resort to a paddle or sap gloves to get a beauty like that.

    How would you say carbon compares to rattan for your perspective? That’s what I mostly have experience with. Going to guess it’s heavier and thuddier by that bruise.

      Not really, if you look below the bruise there is a small red stripe from one of the hits. They are usually longer and only a bit wider than that when they are still fresh. I really love those intense, sharp pains from a cane. The bruise got made with multiple dozen hits from different angles to get that nice big spot. It doesn’t look that intense initially, but develops over a few days to become a deep purple (pictures from later days have a much stronger coloration).

      I never used rattan, so I can’t really compare the two. From what I can gather it’s a type of wood/stick? Carbon doesn’t bend at all, so the force you use translates really well onto the skin. I’ll see if I can try using rattan soon to make a proper comparison
