There are great people on this site, but I don’t want to get so much hate from freeloading trolls. Especially when on other apps I get tips. I’ve gotten many cash app tips from other social media. Bye ✌️

This post and your comments here give off the impression that you only posted here for 2 things: money and validation. While this isn’t inherently a bad thing, implying that people who don’t tip you are lesser (not “one of the good ones”, as you say) will get you nowhere.

If you want to call anyone who dares say anything less than positive about you a troll and want to leave because of that, that’s fine. We simply won’t be the simp echo chamber that you seem to want us to be.

I think the community needs to accept that people don’t only post for their benefit, and that’s fine. It’s dangerous to post nudes publicly, and it takes time and effort and creativity to consistently do so with new content.

Most of the posters of OC are trying to build a following and convert a few of their viewers to subs to make the effort worthwhile. I think the number of high quality OC posters without some form of income generation is very small.

And frankly Annabelle was one of the better posters, she didn’t spam the shit out of things, did consistently post content and communicated, did interact with the comments, didn’t push their OF in annoying ways. I would say she’s the archetype of success here (along with a few other high quality posters).

It’s a major bummer to see her leave, and I think we’re going to see other great users leave too, sadly.

Gutted to hear that but if you’re getting abuse then that’s completely understandable.

edit: I’ve just looked through your recent posts and I just see postive messages (plus one poster asking where your OF/fansly was). Were the hate messages deleted or are they PMs?

Before this post, there was a poll post from her fansly that showed the majority of her paid subscribers come from Bluesky and only a small percentage came from Lemmy. She posted this essentially saying that we didn’t pay her enough money and then deleted it and hour or two later. I never opened it, but I imagine that’s where the majority of negative comments came from that sparked this reaction.

I’d go for Answer c: ‘imagined’

This is an incredibly stupid thing to say. You’re basically calling her a liar when she says people are being unpleasant to her - you’ve immediately disproven your own point. Besides, we do see hate towards self-promotion here, so we know it happens.

You call her a bitch but simultanously say she’s lying about the hate. Unbelievable. She’s not a problem on this site, you are.

Thanks. In this industry there will always be trolls, but this site seems to be less money and more hate. I had positive experiences here but prefer other socials with better vibes. It feels like the reddit culture got transferred

No disrespect but why would one expect income from posting on a free social media site?

Wouldn’t it make sense to charge money like only fans or charge money for access to somewhere with direct interactions. The latter and hyperspecialization seem to me like the most resilient to a million and one porn tubes offering an avalanch of porn.

Lead generation for any site is hard, and in modern follower/feed based sites you’re at the whims of the algorithm. It’s worse in the adult industry where people don’t have any “friend” mechanism to rebroadcast content.

The algorithms want to only show content that either makes money or builds followings, it’s a feedback loop – if you don’t have followers/liked content then there’s nothing for the algorithm to use to suggest your new content to new users based on, and your traffic dries up (source: I’ve worked on this style social media).

Posting in a broadcast style site like Reddit or Lemmy gets you exposure to a broader group without an algorithm meditating everything the user sees (less true of Reddit now). Ideally people look for content in a sub, like your content, click your bio for more, and see the links to paid sites and follow there.

It’s an additional tool to gain a following, but also kinda required or else your account won’t show up after a few days of starting. You could be Helen of Troy but never even get views on social media if you don’t also do marketing for yourself.

To advertise paid for content. Have you not been paying any attention? Lemmy is small, and people who make money from NSFW content are incentivized to advertise on the biggest sites. TikTok and Instagram don’t allow advertising, but Reddit and Twitter do. That’s where sex workers rope in new subscribers.

There’s a tradeoff, Lemmy could be a great place to post because it’s low volume and your stuff will get seen for sure. Reddit subs like /r/gonewild have so much volume you’re essentially gambling that your content will even make anyone’s feed outside of /new, but that makes you less memorable if you do show up too.

Unfortunately I think Lemmy is not going to generate good leads.

A lot of the users here seem anti-capitalism/money/payment in any way and can be militantly so.

I’m here for the privacy, but I think people like me would be hard pressed to enter their credit card info on a porn site.

This site is not for making money but doing it out of exhibitionism. However you’re free to try of course, just don’t expect too much.

But really sad about the hate…

It’s something this community has to work on, what incentive do this community has to offer to posters.

Its not money, with all the debate around the onlyfans/fansly links it does not seem the community want to offer an advertising platform. So what’s left ? It could offer a friendly space with discussions but as you noticed it is not really the case either.

It was nice seeing there, nice that you gave this community a chance and good luck for the rest.

You haven’t hit up !freakychicks in a minute. It’s actually died down period with not much OC coming from anywhere, but would love a send off if you’re for real done. You’re on the OG list.

Being insulting seems like a great way to get negative feedback. The way this works is that most abhorrent behavior in most communities is a small minority. You get offended by 0.5% and instead of blocking 3 people you insult 1000 and get in turn mild negativity and now feel justified.

I’ve also seen folks who expect people to kiss their rear describe any critique as hate because they honestly dont know how people communicate.

Either way nobody really needed to know you are no longer posting you could have just not posted.

I imagine the percentage of simps on lemmy is lower than other social media. I wouldn’t expect this to be a profitable platform based on that assumption
