As you can see, Oregon is the only state in which it’s illegal to possess pornography, but on the other hand, the actual act is a felony or misdemeanor in most states. To my knowledge it’s still the case that only Oregon can go after you for having pr0n.

Do you think bestiality should be legal? Animal abuse is a seriously bad thing, but on the other hand, I would argue that male animals at the very least can provably consent (IE, they can visibly have sex with someone on purpose!)
Bestiality laws are usually argued to be a means of preventing animal abuse, but Washington state notably only passed bestiality laws after a man in Spokane, colloquially known as Mr Hands, died after allowing a male horse to penetrate him anally. This wasn’t really in the guise of safety though, it was just because the case brought bestiality to light and too many people said “that’s disgusting!”
I don’t know a lot of bestiality case law, but anecdotally it seems like charges are usually only pressed where accusations of abuse are also present. I haven’t heard of, for example, a woman having sex with a male dog being charged under any circumstances.

Fascinating map even if it may be outdated. Obviously animal abuse is absolutely terrible full stop. Do not pass go, do not collect $200. I do think it shouldn’t be illegal in general, but the question of consent is probably why it is still mostly, kind of illegal. Now me personally I do believe without a shadow of a doubt that you can tell whether an animal that knows you, and you them can give implicit consent. Unless of course you are an abuse monster only in it for yourself, then yeah, you aren’t going to even put a single thought towards the very clear body language tells and you should be punished, severely.
