      Agreed, it’s almost as though you get more of the story if, you know, you RTFA.

        Between a decade+ on reddit and now here on lemmy I’ve learned most of the time when someone’s whining about a headline or insinuating that the media is purposefully misleading they’re just upset that headlines don’t contain the entire article. Which is obviously a very stupid criticism. It’s surprisingly common but it’s stupid all the same.

          i dunno. I have read a lot of articles that could be summed up with a decent headline. They really puff up the articles these days with pointless words.

      Including elements that aren’t necessary, but more sensational, is quite misleading. Including facts as to who his father is, isn’t pertinent.
