some people misinterpret “freedom of speech” meaning universal freedom of speech. all it mandates is that the government isn’t going to punish you for saying shit. It does not protect a person if other people punish them for saying shit.

Another way to say that is: Freedom of speech isn’t freedom from consequences your speech elicits in others.

I have also decreed that, by the laws of there no longer being laws, you may also slap, kick, purple nurple, spit on, or cause them to cry for mommy in any way seen fit in the process of de-nazification

Let’s see, the conservative Christian right just voted in a nasacistic tyrant twice. They want to declare America as a Christian country. They want to abolish the separation of church and state. They want to teach creationism in schools. They want LGBT to register as sex offenders. They want to remove books from schools and libraries they don’t like. They want to immediately execute every death row inmate. I’m not sure why I’m pissed at conservatives.

I live in a largely Christian community and have never heard anyone push for the US declaring a national religion. Is there some specific celeb or smth you hear say this? There are certainly people out there who believe everything you listed but that isn’t even close to the majority of Christians, and most right wingers aren’t even Christian.

Go further than that, tell them they’re mindless sheep, that they’re cucks to the ruling class, that they fall in line to whoever makes them feel good and don’t have an independant bone in their body. Remind them that Trump had 4 years with full control and accomplished zero of his promises, and that they’re idiots for falling for the same trick. Remind them that they’re the loud, stupid, obnoxious ones who have to be placated by the world or they throw a tantrum. Tell them when Trump dies nobody will remember the people who supported him and nobody will help his followers when they’re in trouble.

Seriously, we have to take gloves off and find ways to hurt them on a deeply personal level. Because we should have been doing this from the start. Because it’s all they really understand.

This is what I wish more people on the left understood, that they are GIVING us their vulnerabilities every time they open their mouth and we’re ignoring every opportunity.

I can cite so many examples of this. Like, you can literally just call them the thing they hate and it will set them off to a degree that I think would startle most non-conservatives.

It’s because to normal, well-adjusted, adult humans, being called a “cuck” by a stranger is just funny, it’s like being “booed” by a stranger, it’s more weird than anything personal or offensive. But the reason he’s using that word against you is because he himself is deeply, profoundly sensitive to the word and all it implies.

They get massively triggered by specific words, and the left is always overthinking it, trying to come up with “smart” ways to fight and debate. When all you have to do is call them “weak sissies with no chin too dumb to know how voting works” and you will make their faces melt in rage, they will literally think about it all day. It doesn’t even matter if it’s accurate, and it certainly doesn’t matter if someone on “your side” thinks it’s problematic to use gendered slurs or ableism. It’s time to start twisting the knives out there.

That would be FANTASTIC, I don’t know if you mean state house or federal, either way, imagine if every election there were more leftist/progressive candidates running than unopposed conservatives? I say this ALL THE TIME, that you can make a much bigger impact on your country by being more involved with politics, not less.

Learn who’s running in your town, your county, your state, get to know your neighborhood, find out what people are thinking about, talking about, who they trust and not, just gather information and get practice being social and making friends. You can do so much to ensure that the people who prop up the foundations of our federal systems are people who actually represent us.

I didn’t say anything about fascism, that’s a whole different topic entirely. So weird that’s you’ve brought a third term in whilst claiming I was playing on the no true scottsman fallacy (which I don’t believe is the case).

Conservativism is about the family unit, the church/traditional culture, and serving your community and nation. Conserving tradition in the name and style of your ancestors (so Confusionism is fairly conservative for instance, as it focuses on ancestors worship and supporting your parents).

Libertarianism is about reducing government, avoiding taxes, and maximizing individual “freedoms”.

They’re simply two different ideologies. Has nothing to do with a not true scottsman fallacy. Has to do with the fact they’re obviously not overlapping sets of values, and in fact oppose each other greatly and often.

However American have been tricked into thinking they’re compatible.

Your comments and those supporting it are proof of this. You’ve been had by billionaire think tanks and mega churches. Brainwashed into seeing them as the same ideology when they’re actually in opposition.

Foolish American. Brainwashed people are bound to vote against their own interests. Lambs to the slaughter.

Remember when Elon claimed to be a libertarian before literally joining the establishment Republicans? Libertarianism isn’t real. “Libertarians” bend the knee to conservatives and fascists so quickly it doesn’t matter what the ideology supposedly says. It doesn’t matter that you didn’t “say” anything about fascism. If you can’t connect these two things, that is simply a failure in critical thinking.

I’m the one saying Libertarianism has been sold to Americans under the brand of Conservatism.

… and it’s important to point out (particularly to young people) that these two philosophies don’t mesh.

You’re free to say “No! All you conservative voters are actually fascists and you’re evil and stupid and need to stay away from everyone!” - and continue to see whether that shaming moralism of young men starts winning them over. You’re free to persist with declaring everything right wing fascist.

After the last election some might suggest it’s not winning any votes.
