Just curious to know how many mods here are

  • A. still “here” and active
  • B. here but given up due to lack of momentum, interest
  • C. abandoned platform completely
  • D. just waiting for the 1 year mark and praying new users and posters will continue to come
  • E. other? (like only relying at alternative matrix chat)

I’ll be happy to see more than 10 responses from this dead community 😉

[Update 11/18]: glad to see comments, feedback, much more than I expected. Also see the modlog for actions taken. Just wanted to point out a couple of threads:

I think something needs to be done about downvotes. Any hardcore content I post is immediately downvoted. Pretty much all hard content I post gets 5 downvotes. Some recover, some don’t.

I think people browse local and most don’t seem to like hard content. People here seem to prefer softcore. That’s fine, but downvoting is not the response to that.

I think you may have to remove downvotes and people will have to make their own subscription list and browse that. (What I do is browse local and then block the communities that I’m not interested in.)

(I’ll copy this to the other thread, but this one seems more active and I want it to be seen.)

We now have a discussion about this going on in the modcoordination matrix room, with the admins engaging…

I’m sure bridgade-voting manipulation by related accounts/groups (up or down votes) happen here as on Reddit, but the effect is much more magnified here…

Brigade implies an organized (one way or another) effort, which I don’t think it is. This is the result of people browsing ‘local’ and downvoting what they don’t like, when it’s entirely suitable for the community it’s on.
