Tbh considering how new lemmy is and the nature of this instance (NSFW, so lurking is much more higher) I think your requirements might be a bit strict if people want to moderate. Maybe you can just consider overall activity on the instance rather than the community for now?
It’s not a requirement because I’m “strict”. It’s a requirement because the only way I can appoint a mod to a community is to click the link on a comment or post in that community.
And also now that I think about it, how is asking a moderator to have a single post or comment in the comm they want to moderate “strict”? That’s literally, actually, the bare minimum in terms of community engagement.
I thought that the expectation was to have a post or comment from before asking for moderation powers (to show you’ve been active in the community or something like that), not to post after asking for moderation. I thought it was strict because expecting people to have people linking to an old comment might not possible considering how relatively new the instance is, but that’s not what was expected then oh well.
